About Us

Cinemocracy

Committees usually come up with great inventions like witch hunts and
line dancing. But when the 2008 Denver Convention Host Committee put
together the right community committee to talk about civic events during
the DNC, they actually received three great ideas in return: Cinemocray,
Dialogue: City and feed tuna mayonnaise. While the third is still under
consideration, the other two will be happening on the web and in Denver.
And you can participate right here, right now (this is like a 1992 Pepsi
commercial featuring the musical styling of Van Halen) by uploading your
film and subjecting it to the popular vote. Hey! It's your tomorrow...

Denver Office of Cultural Affairs

Widely known throughout Denver and the Universe, the Denver Office of
Cultural Affairs' (DOCA) mission is to advance arts and culture in the
City and County of Denver. We do this mostly through the installation
of gigantic, blue animals in very public settings. We also do a lot of
civic engagement initiatives and economic development for the arts. But
everyone talks about the gigantic blue animals, so we might as well go
with that. Additionally, we're a bunch of eaters who have a designated
food cube.

Denver Film Society

The Denver Film Society (DFS) uses film to spark thought and dialogue
for diverse audiences. They also have a super-sweet film festival and
know how to throw one heck of a Karaoke bash. Uber-cool programming
includes Mile-Hi Sci-Fi, which we're pretty sure is quintessential to
understanding any sort of science fiction references, including Tom
Cruise and Scientology. DFS also has a staff member Keith who does a
mean mashed-potato.

2008 Denver Convention Host Committee

This group of highly motivated folks is throwing the biggest bash of the
21st Century (so far and excluding the World Cupstacking Championships).
We're probably not supposed to be too irreverent when speaking of this
organization, but suffice to say they use Apple computers, so we think
there's a lot of cool underneath that steely governmental appearance.
